I have always loved to bake.  When my son had trouble visualizing fractions in elementary school, I suggested we bake something together.  He chose a chocolate chip cookie recipe and we proceeded to measure the ingredients from 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to cups of flour.  At the end of the "lesson" he was able to see the results and enjoy them.  This became a weekly activity which our entire family enjoyed together.  My son is now  21.  He is a licensed pilot with instrument, commercial single and multi-engine ratings.  I like to think his success stems from baking chocolate chip cookies over fourteen years ago...

Having been a single mother for years and, having relied on real estate for my income, when the real estate market took a nose dive, the dream of turning my love of baking into a business became a reality.  The inspiration for Laine's Cornerstone Kitchen came from a friend who needed help in satisfying her client's request for gourmet homemade cookies.   Within weeks, the one order turned into multiple orders.  With my children's help, including naming our company, coming up with a slogan, deciding which photographs to include on this website, and having fun naming our cookies, the company, Laine's Cornerstone Kitchen, became a reality.  

Laine's Cornerstone Kitchen is not a factory.  I know there are some great factory made cookies out there proclaiming "homemade taste", but the fact is they are not homemade, and they just don't taste homemade to me.  Our cookies are homemade and taste homemade.  If you don't see the cookie you want, contact us!  With over 14 years of baking experience, we just may be able to bake it for you.

We recently increased our baked goods line to include one close to our hearts: Honey's Pampered Pet Treats.  Honey is our Australian Shepherd that we adopted through ARPH on Petfinder.com.  The same care goes into preparing Honey's dog biscuits as goes into preparing our human cookies.  We use only the finest ingredients and hand make every batch.  And, we contribute 5% of our gross profit from Honey's Pampered Pet Treats to ARPH.
